Upon evolving from Teddiursa, Ursaring lost its interest in contest battling and sought out to improve its strength. While Ursaring stayed on Izzy's team for a while, until the capture of Phanpy, Izzy had placed Ursaring in storage at his home in Neighborly Town. During the Grand Festival, Ursaring was seen with all of Izzy's Pokemon, Ben, Eliza, and Kellyn watching the competition on the television.
